Can anyone give me a capsule bio or any information on Bogart Rogers?
I've been reading little bits about him and by him in the newspapers.
He seems to have been every bit as interesting as his more celebrated
sister Adela, although not as long lived. I know he was a WWI flying
ace, and that he then went to work for the studios as a press agent.
He worked for Douglas MacLean for many years.

Then somehow he became involved with the company that invented and
provided the photo finish equipment to racecourses (brother Bryson
appears to have been involved with that, too). There's a long gap I
can't account for and I haven't found any capsule bios on the web. I
caught a whiff of the family thirst that so bedeviled his father and
Adela, but nothing concrete.

Now *there* is a family that needs some serious historical/biographical
work done on them.

PS Hope everyone's Christmas was replete with interesting baubles
stuffed in stockings, and fabulous tasty goodies.

From genealogy and other internet sources I see that when he was in the
war, he wrote letters back to his sweetheart, Isabelle Gibson Young.
They married on June 26, 1920 in Linn county, Oregon. In the 1930
census she said she was born in Oregon. They apparently met at Stanford
University.

In that census, she is the head of the household, with their children
Frances and Earl Rogers. Isabelle is listed as widowed, which is either
a mistake; or as sometimes happened there was a divorce or separation,
and it thought more respectable to be called "widowed."

I can't seem to find him easily in the 1930 census. He apparently died
on July 24, 1966 in Los Angeles. He was born June 24, 1897, in
California.

In the 1900 census, Bogart and Adela M. Rogers are children in the Earl
A. and Hazel B. Rogers household on 1336 Bush St. in Los Angeles.

I don't see much about his later life, but his children may still be
alive.

Earl is, I think. Plus there were other Rogers offspring who had
children, Adela herself had a ton of descendants, although she lost a
son during WWII. Bogart seemed like a very interesting man, was
wondering if anyone had ever written an article on him and his
connection with the early movie industry.

Jeez. And in your neighborhood, coal would really come in handy.

Don't know if you still want info 12 years later, but Bogart Rogers' letters to "Izzy", his eventual wife, are published in a book by the University Press of Kansas. Fascinating man whose story reads like a novel.
