I'm an amateur researching the Poluski Brothers:
Will Poluski (Born William Nelson Govett) 27 Jan 1861 - 1923
Sam Poluski (Born Samuel Thomas Govett) 19 Jan 1866 - 1922
Born and performed in England. Apprenticed to Duffy's Circus about 1875
and appeared regularly as "Musical Clowns" They became a top Musical Hall
double act and are given credit for many of the modern double act
routines. The made at least one record on the Regal Label and a number of
silent films from 1911 to 1915 'ish.
Have read from someone else's research that they were on the Fred Karno
circuit.
I am looking for any snippets of information in connection with the
brothers. I am interested in finding a photograph of them. Also any
knowledge of living descendents.
Sam had a daughter called Phyllis.
Will had three children:
Charlotte married Gus McNaughton - Famous Actor
Winifred married Bentley Ward and their daughter Polly Ward was a famous
actor.
William married Rosetta Wood (Aka Rosie Lloyd) singer and sister of the
great Marie Lloyd.
